I did it, I finally went to NYCC by myself and dressed up! I went as Rorshach from the Watchmen comics. He is my favorite character from this epic comic. They also made a movie, but it was just ok, except for the love scene, that was terrible! They could have edit that out. Here's a picture of my costume. Anyway, I was going to go as the to be wed Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice, but the dress was way too big to walk around in throughout the day. Maybe I will dress up like her at a Halloween party later on this month. Regardless, I was very excited to go! Jumped on the G, transferred to the 7, and I was there! And so was about 100,00 other people! The line to get in was about 8 blocks long, but it was moving. As soon as I was in the convention center, I put on my masked and walked into the Block! The block is dangerous! Full of so many cute, awesome toys, cool shirts-shopping and merchandise for nerds! I told myself not to buy too many things, and I succeeded! My total bill (paid with cash) through out the day was $94! Here are pictures of what I bought. Cute wood toys, from Jibibuts. The pink one in the middle is Dunny. Below this, a white shirt that has a brain, and a skeleton that belong to a dinosaur. This was actually one of my favorite finds, but I didn't buy it. It's Arnold S. in a pink frame as Conan the Barbarian from the movie! I found out it is from Scott Scheidly. It was too big and heavy to carry. Too Bad!! The third purchase was very affordable: a rabbit ring, key pin and deer earrings. I am wearing the other earring right now! More photos from the Block: After leaving the Block, you enter the show floor with exhibitors. Exhibitors such as Funko, Marvel, Toy Tokyo, Weta, Lego, Midtown Comics, Chevrolet (what?) were there. But look at these cute llamas! Awesome masks! I love the white dragon one! Of course WETA was there! Here is Dain Ironfoot on his pig from the Hobbit movie. Too many shirts! Walls of Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and so many comic book t-shirts. I felt so overwhelmed. A lot of comic exhibitors were representing such as Dark Horse, Image and a new comic I started to read: Sex Criminals! This is Hulkbuster (what a name) from Avengers 2, Age of Ultron, which I did not see. This thing was so fast that it almost knocked me down! That's how close up it was to me! Of course people were following it all around. My first and only panel: Comic Book Girl 19. She's so great. I learned so much information regarding histories of Xmen and Game of Thrones. Here she is with Robot! They talked for about 45 minutes about their youtube history, art background etc. Then they asked the audience if they had any questions. The first 3 people that asked questions were nice, sweet and sincere about things, then the fourth person(s) were from the show, Silicon Valley. They went up on stage and monopolized the panel with their "If we were gonna make a move, what would it be about, pitch?" to comic book girl 19. Who the fuck cares?! There was a line of people waiting patiently, to ask questions to CBG19, but the Silicon Valley douche bags were up on stage talking crap and being annoying. I had to listen to their whining voices and look at their stupid costumes. Get your own panel, you attention grabbing, ugly, entitled dummies! And of course adding to their egos, there was a camera crew following them. After listening to the blow horns of Silicon Valley turds, (yes, they had blow horns, so people could unfortunately listen to all the stupid shit they had to say), I ate my lunch on the floor (so did many other people, since it was so crowded in the eating area) and proceeded to Artist Alley. I really don't follow any specific artist, but while looking at the list, I gravitated to Chris Hamer of UrbnPop. I bought this 5x7 print. I LOVE TACOS! Monsters and old comics are the best! I also bought a Krampus comic from Dean Kotz. Unfortunately I didn't get to see all of the show floor, since it was way too big and crowded. My pictures are just a small taste of the 3rd floor. I had to see CBG19 at 12:30, so I had to leave the enormous show room. I didn't see the Game of Thrones panel, Walking Dead or Sean Bean panel; I was too tired and my feet hurt from walking for 5 hours. And I didn't take any pictures of cosplay characters. I felt like my enthusiasm was dying due to the large crowds, and my overwhelming heat from wearing my mask, hat and coat. I guess that is why people pay to go for 3-4 days. They come back and start where they left off?! Good to know for next time. Will I go next time? It was definitely a long day! I only went for 5 hours, and I was exhausted.
