I can't wait to see this! It's by Aardman Studios, a stop motion company in Bristol, England that did Creature Comforts, Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer music video, Wallace and Gromit, and Chicken Run. They are now animating Pirates! In An Adventure with Scientists. I read the book by Gideon Defoe a while ago, and thought it was very funny! It also has David Tennant from DOCTOR WHO as the voice of Charles Darwin! Double YAY! I love him! But anyway, Charles Darwin an English naturalist, wrote On the Origin of Species, The Voyage of the Beagle and many others. He was on a ship expedition that lasted 5 years from South America to the Galapagos Islands and back! Wow, that is pretty long! I don't know if I could to that, especially in 1831! No sea sickness pills, no sunscreen, no chap stick or lip gloss, and no heated blankets! I would totally need all those things! Anyway, "he proposed that all species of life descend from a common ancestry and that branching patterns of evolution resulted from a process he called natural selection (from Wikipedia)". It was a very controversial idea at the time and still is.
